Salt Lake City January Market Update

Salt Lake City January Market Update

The Salt Lake County housing market saw some interesting changes from November to December. Inventory tightened with fewer homes available (1,535 in November vs. 1,272 in December), signaling increased competition among buyers. Despite this, sales activity picked up, with 581 properties sold in December compared to 533 in November, showing strong demand.

Sales volume also jumped by over $31 million, indicating an increase in buyer activity. Homes took slightly longer to sell, with the average days on market rising from 49 to 60 days, suggesting buyers may be more deliberate in their decisions.

Home prices rose slightly, with the average sales price in November being $694,010, while December's average sales price climbed to $696,206. For both buyers and sellers, these trends overall could signal exciting opportunities ahead in 2025!
