Earth Day is April 22nd, but Millcreek is celebrating a little later this year — and for good reason.
On April 24th, the community is hosting the Ripple Effect Earth Day Celebration at Millcreek Common, and at the heart of it is something genuinely special: an auction of one-of-a-kind rain barrels painted by local artists and Millcreek elementary school students.
The Barrels
These aren't your standard hardware store rain barrels. Local artists paired up with elementary school students to hand-paint 50-gallon barrels in celebration of Earth Day. Every single one is unique — a collaboration between professional artists and young creatives from the community.
It's the kind of project that works on multiple levels: kids get to create something meaningful, local artists contribute their skills, and the community gets beautiful, functional art for their homes and gardens.

Every bid placed on these barrels goes directly to support Millcreek's Promise Program — an initiative focused on strengthening the community and supporting local families.

If you want to see the barrels in person, bid live, and experience the full Earth Day celebration, head to Millcreek Common on April 24th from 1–5PM. The Ripple Effect Earth Day Celebration will have the full collection on display, giving you a chance to see every barrel up close before the auction closes that night.
